14. Is your organisation linked to or affiliated with a wider organisation, umbrella or governing body?

Some organisations are part of a wider organisation, whether that be by affiliation or franchise. It is worth checking this, so that you are clear as to how independent an organisation is in terms of following policy and procedure.

For example, Scouts or Brownies will be affiliated and therefore follow policy and procedure as stated by Scouting or Girlguiding. Smaller groups like Jo Jingles music classes may be a franchise, and they should still adopt the principles of the wider umbrella organisation.
