A designated safeguarding lead is somebody who is responsible for the safeguarding and health and safety of young people while they are accessing an organisation's services.

There should be a named person who has had safeguarding training within the last twelve months. You may want to check that their training included topics such as bullying, physical abuse and sexual harassment, and that insurance and risk assessments are also in place.
