11. May I have a copy of your safeguarding policy?

All organisations that work directly with children and young people should be able to give this to you on request. You may want to check the policy to make sure it includes 'no disciplinary approaches should be taken that could cause physical or emotional harm to a child’.

In addition to this, check the date on the organisation's other policies. If they have not been reviewed or updated for at least three years, this may indicate that they are not being used effectively.
