Wechsler Individual Achievement Test – Third UK Edition (WIAT-III UK)

The Wechsler Individual Achievement Test - Third UK Edition (WIAT-III UK) is a measure of reading to inform teaching and learning strategies. Its focus includes three main areas: untimed single-word accuracy; reading comprehension; and reading speed. 16 subtests can be used to evaluate listening, speaking, reading, writing, and mathematics skills.

How is it used?

Pupils are asked to carry out tasks involving single-word reading, reading comprehension, reading speed, reading rate and single-word spelling. The test is to be administered individually and takes 30–40 minutes.

Age-based standard scores, percentile ranks and age equivalents.
